11 Pajama Sets I’m Noodling on Purchasing
Project 365, Day 102/365
You may or may not know this about me, but I LOVE a set of pajamas. Most of my life, I’ve lived a pajama set-free life. As a kid, I typically wore a long T-shirt…maybe they were called sleep shirts back then? I have a very clear memory of a giant Tweety Bird sleep shirt I wore, only to be outdone by the Tweety Bird-shaped slippers I eventually paired with that get-up. But beyond that, it was a gnarled random T-shirt and paint-splattered bottoms for the majority of my nights.
That is, until I stumbled upon the pajama set. Of course, a matching top and bottom does nothing besides make you feel good. It doesn’t improve your quality of sleep (well, maybe if it’s a soft, cool material), it doesn’t make you a better person or partner, but it sure does make you feel like you have it a tiny bit together, even if that’s all a sham. Look, I’m not here to tell you how to live, but a pajama set is the equivalent to me of making your bed in the morning. You feel even just the tiniest bit accomplished just by going through the motions.
I have a handful of matching pajama sets by not (and I’m not counting flannel Christmas pajamas…for me, the limit does not exist on how many you can and should have), but some of them are starting to look a bit mangled, so it may be time for a new set.
This post is not a “recommendations” post, as I’ve tried NONE of these, but more a “hey, take a look at what I’m looking at if you care even the most minute amount…or come back tomorrow.” Sundays for me are typically a food post day, but I’m on week two of a Green Chef box subscription, so I don’t have much to say on the matter. Alas…pajamas.
Adult Supersoft Popover Print PJ Top & PJ Bottom: I’ve had my fair share of pajamas from Gap (or when it used to be GapBody…do they still have those standalone stores? I haven’t been to a mall in…a long time). I’ve heard great things about their Supersoft line and I just can’t help but to love those little lightening bolts. LA may just be on the verge of getting too warm for these, but I also sleep with the ceiling fan and a floor fan because we’re a bit extra in this household. Meaning, the warmth might actually be just fine.
Adult Truesleep PJ Top in Modal & PJ Bottom: This is my pajama style of choice as of late. They’re so soft against the skin, you feel like you’re wrapped in a cool cloud. I do tend to suffer sometimes from the buttons coming undone because of the softness, and well, let’s just say that makes for a strange, unfortunate way of waking up in the morning.
Women’s Short Sleeve Stretch-Knit Bamboo Pajama Set: Cozy Earth is not a brand I’ve purchased from previously, but I’ve heard really great things about their ethos and their products. I love that these are make of sustainable bamboo. I also know bamboo fabrics are SUPER soft, and you can hardly go wrong with pajamas described that way. They’re a bit on the pricier side, but if they last longer and wash better, I’d say it’s worth it.
Ladybug Pajama Top & Bottom: Quick inside track here…sometimes Charles calls me his ladybug so…uh, how could I not love these? The photos of these don’t give me a sense of the softness here, but the description claims they are “irresistibly soft” so…sounds promising. While I tend to sleep in longer pants in the cooler months, I quickly swap to shorts once we have to start running the A/C…which will be any day now.
Pineapple Pajama Top & Bottom: PINEAPPLES! Another beloved little jewel from nature that I love. I think the colors here are so fun, and while the rayon isn’t great for anyone looking for more breathable fabrics, it does look awfully soft.
Striped Pajama Top & Bottom: Uhh, the price on this is wild right now (discounted, plus an additional 50% off AND THEN another 15% off from that). They look light, thin and it’s hard to resist the happy striped yellow and the “Hello Sunshine” embroidery on the top.
Women’s Striped Tank Top and Shorts Pajama Set: Hard to beat a $15 comfy but simple pajama set, honestly.
Women’s Beautifully Soft Crop Notch Collar Pajama Set: Spoiler alert: I already own these, but in maroon, so I wouldn’t be opposed to having them in navy. Again, I do struggle a bit with the buttons setting me, ahem, free at times but well, watcha gonna do? Probably just a unique problem I struggle with because of my chest size.
Women’s Tie-Dye Beautifully Soft Long Sleeve Top and Shorts Pajama Set: I like the long-sleeve, shorts combo on this. Perfect for chillier spring and early summer nights. Like a pajama mullet…business up top, party on the bottom. Or not that. But it’s from Target’s Stars Above Beautifully Soft line, and I really like that stuff!
Cool Nights Boxy Sleep Tee & Modern Pajama Shorts: Soma makes great sleepwear, loungewear and undergarments in general. One of my favorite robes is from Soma. It’s SO soft, I’ve had it for years and years (speaking to its quality) and it’s well priced. This set looks like something I could be in all day if I felt like without feeling too much like I’m in pajamas.
Cool Nights Reversible Lace Cami & Lace Trim Pajama Shorts: I’ve never met a lace trim I didn’t like. The cami and shorts duo looks perfect for the hot nights where the A/C doesn’t seem to be blowing cold enough no matter what. This line from the description is also selling me on this: “Cool Nights® fabric is made with lightweight rayon fibers that stay cool to the touch and keep the fabric from sticking to your body.” Yes please!
Alright FOAS, that’s all I’ve got for you today. Pretty please share any places you’ve had good luck finding good, quality, but not astronomically priced sleepwear if there’s something worth throwing in the comments.
See you tomorrow, friends!
