5 Quick Things
Project 365, Day 36
CONGRATULATIONS! You made it, WE made it, to Friday. What a week (she said, for the past 52 weeks…). That reminds me of that scene in 30 Rock—one of my favorite sitcoms—where Liz Lemon declares “What a week, huh?” and Jack Donaghy retorts “Lemon, it’s Wednesday.” Here’s a visual. So much of life feels like that Wednesday-should-be-Friday, doesn’t it?
What plans do you all have for the weekend? I mentioned on Wednesday (ha, there it is again) that I started reading Untamed by Glennon Doyle, and I have until the end of the day Monday to finish it. Charles encouraged me to put my taxpayer dollars to work and rent the e-book through my local library instead of buying it on Amazon, but it only gave me seven days with no option to renew, so…guess I’m spending most of my Saturday and Sunday reading. No issue taken, it’s FANTASTIC.
To wrap up the work week, here are five quick things:
Quick Thing #1: Tabitha Brown
I first heard of this DELIGHT of a human being from Jess over at EHD (Emily Henderson Design for anyone who didn’t find me through that site). I followed her on Instagram that day but would scroll past her posts, muted, not having connected with her yet. Well, one day, I decided to listen and I have to tell you, I can’t believe I waited as long as I did to let that blessing into my life. Her cooking and food videos are my favorites, but at this point, she could read me the back of an all-in-one shampoo-conditioner bottle, and I’d listen, face planted in my palm, enthralled, giddy, happy.
Quick Thing #2: The Great Pottery Throw Down
If you love The Great British Bake Off, you’ll probably love The Great Pottery Throw Down (on HBO Max). I just started watching it and it has the same sweet, softness of GBBO…just with clay in place of flour.
Quick Thing #3: This Reminder
I’ve read this a few times this week every time I didn’t feel like doing something I knew would be good for me.
Quick Thing #4: An Exciting Sweatsuit (haha)
I’m fully aware I link something from Target at least once a week. They make it too easy to shop, sadly. Anyhow, I just ordered a sweatshirt and sweatpants combo I’m so excited about because that is what life is nowadays. The pants came today and OMG they are so soft, and I’m still waiting on the top, but I suspect it’ll be just as good. Can’t wait to reach my quarantine comfort fever pitch, ASAP.
Quick Thing #5: Baked Feta Pasta
This is everywhere. It’s the new “tortilla hack” clearly. I haven’t tried it yet but I plan to add it to my meal planning next week. Has anyone cooked this yet? I’d imagine it’s a salty, briny, unctuous carby treat. I like tomatoes. I like feta. I like basil. I like pasta. How could the combination of those four things not be a winner? Internet fads are typically overhyped, but, please, report back if you’ve given this a whirl!
