5 Quick Things: Small Cool Design, Something New to Watch, A Timely Reminder
Project 365, Day 169/365
Readers! It’s Friday! I never know how to start my 5 Quick Things post, so it’s usually some sort of exclamation about making it to Friday. It’s as basic as one can get, I suppose, but hey…it’s effective. Even when I didn’t work “office hours,” Friday still felt special. As Charles used to say at some point in his life “Friday, the day of endless possibilities.” Every day is full of endless possibilities, sure, but Fridays, well…they just hit different. Here’s what I had my eye on this week:
Quick Thing #1
As is the norm, I’m always behind on new “it” shows or things to watch. I’m not really a bandwagoner, but Charles and I both heard the show Mare of Easttown on HBO Max was worth watching, and we decided to give it a go this week. It’s a limited series of seven episodes and watched it in a few nights. It started a touch slow, but by the end of the first episode, we were VERY into it. It’s not a light watch, but it is good.
Quick Thing #2
A person I follow mentioned the cookbook Make It Vegan recently, and I immediately flagged it based on the reviews I saw for it. I’m not vegan (I ate chicken for lunch), but I did feel VERY good when I was eating mostly plants, so now I tend to have at least two out of three meals every day me meat-free. I think I’m gonna grab this. I’ll report back, but thought I’d share since a handful of you have always shown interest in more plant-based cooking.
Quick Thing #3
You know when you stumble upon something that you just needed right then and there? That was this for me this past week.
Quick Thing #4
I’ve been very into ribbed glassware lately. The last thing my home needs is any more drinking glasses, but since I have a blog, I give myself the right to suggest things I want to buy for myself for others. This Ferm Living set is getting my heart pumping. Someone buy them, then send me a photo of you enjoying them so I can live vicariously through you. Deal?
Quick Thing #5
In my day job, I worked with Apartment Therapy on this year’s Small Cool Experience. If you don’t know what that is, it’s a showcase of a handful of designers who each designed a “cool” small space, according to a specific trend. It launched this past weekend, and just a fun thing to explore online if you’re not in NYC to see it in person.
Everyone, have a wonderful weekend.
See you tomorrow, FOAS.
