Project 365, Day 208/365

What a difference having an extra day of rest can make, hm? I don’t normally take random days off, but I decided to take off Monday and wow was it great. I’ve been reading how Iceland is experimenting with 4-day, 32-hour work weeks and while I know the US would likely never adopt such a thing, I could see how that would drastically improve one’s quality of life. Dare to dream. One day, I’d like to imagine that I’ll run my own company—no matter how big or small—and I’ve always dreamed of having a similar schedule. I’ve written about this before, but my definition of success tends to look dramatically different than most. If I could figure out a way to have what I need financially and be spoiled in time and freedom, I’ll be happy.

Speaking of, here’s what I’m grateful for today:

I’m grateful for all my lovely readers who extended great food ideas on Sunday’s post (thank you Sara K., my dear friend, who essentially gave me an encyclopedia of ideas).

I’m grateful for remembering that I used to love banana “ice cream” that I added cocoa powder and unsweetened natural peanut butter to for a delicious snack and dessert.

I’m grateful for a break in the heat, even if just for a day.

I’m grateful for a day off work to get certain things done I needed to get done (including a haircut!).

I’m grateful for my wonderful friends.

I’m grateful for a creative mind, even when it’s stagnant.

I’m grateful for the insane talent of Olympic athletes and that I get to enjoy and be in awe of them.

I’m grateful that my skin has been behaving lately and I can get away with just a little concealer here and there instead of a full face of foundation.

I’m grateful for music and the arts.

I’m grateful for the ocean.

I’m grateful for healthcare.

I’m grateful for heirloom tomatoes.

I’m grateful for you.

See you tomorrow, FOAS.
