Light Displays, Unexpected Finds, Cookies: My Tuesday Gratitudes

Tonight was the first time I cracked open all the baby-related classes I purchased recently. With Covid, we’re doing basically everything online rather than courses in person and today after dinner, we got into bed and dove into all things breastfeeding. As I’ll mention below, man am I grateful for Charles and his willingness to be involved in being as informed as I’m trying to be about all of this. Having a true partner is immensely important to me, and he knows that about me. I had a very hands-on dad, at least from what I can remember from way back when, and I know Charles wants to also be that. Thank goodness. 🙂

As we slide right into the week of Christmas—which still feels just wild to me as I’m not yet all that mentally tuned into the holiday spirit—I’m looking forward to shutting away work in a few days, taking some time off, and enjoying peace and quiet for a bit. On our morning walk today, we both talked about how we wish we could be in Florida right now, celebrating with our families, but we’ll hold out hope that next year will look very different in the best ways and we’ll be able to do just that.

So, that said, merry week-of-Christmas (if that’s a thing), and here’s what I’m grateful for today:

I’m grateful I made proper rice that wasn’t all wet and sticky and broken for the first time maybe…ever?

I’m grateful for a partner that actively takes part in watching all kinds of baby prep courses with me.

I’m grateful for a heater on cold days and nights.

I’m grateful for going to see Christmas light display with friends.

I’m grateful I can stay home comfortably during new surges in COVID-19.

I’m grateful for thoughtful, caring neighbors.

I’m grateful for Christmas cookies.

I’m grateful the gifts I bought each of my nephews made it in time for Christmas.

I’m grateful my nena will be here in less than two months’ time (!!!).

I’m grateful for comfort-watching Christmas movies.

I’m grateful for friends who constantly offer to help in different ways.

I’m grateful for having found my extra long charging cable for my phone before I bought a new one.

I’m grateful for you, readers.

See you tomorrow, FOAS.
