Project 365, Day 104/365

I’ll keep today short, friends. I want to get out my gratitudes, but I also want to head on over to the new meditation pillow I received and give that a go. I’ve never really had much of a “sit in stillness” practice. While I very much appreciate stillness, I’m not always great at living in it. So today is my first stab at sitting, breathing, meditating on sitting and breathing, in hopes that it adds value to my life and helps clear my anxious mind. It’s been a heavy day or two of thinking of another loss of an innocent black man at the hands of a white police officer…I’m so angry, but I’m not in a place to do anything with that anger yet, so instead, I’ll go inward.

Here’s what I’m thankful for and grateful for today:

I’m grateful for some new pajamas heading my way in the next few days!

I’m grateful for the time and space to attempt to start a meditation practice…I’ll let you know how that goes.

I’m grateful my indoor plants survive even after I forget to water them for several weeks.

I’m grateful that I can take stock of how much my body has improved since last fall and winter when I could barely make it through a loop walking around the block, and now I can take two loops!

I’m grateful for my library e-book app so I can read lots of new books without having to purchase anything.

I’m grateful for souvenirs I’ve collected over time that remind me of past travels and experiences.

I’m grateful for my upcoming vaccine appointment.

I’m grateful for chilly mornings and warm afternoons.

I’m grateful for ice cream and waffle cones.

I’m grateful for a reliable car, and long impromptu drives with Charles.

I’m grateful for FOAS.

See you tomorrow, friends.
