My Favorite Day & Night Moisturizer

Product name: Farmacy Honey Halo Ultra-Hydrating Ceramide Moisturizer

Why I like it: I’ve been known to be quite fickle with regard to my skincare products, except when it comes to my moisturizers. I don’t mess with those. For years, I wore Kiehl’s, but it wasn’t working for me anymore after trying to shift to cruelty-free. I bounced around tons of products until I landed on *the* moisturizer last year and I can’t imagine being without it anymore. My skin is the annoying marriage of tight and dry but also somehow oily. If I don’t have the right balance of moisture, it freaks out. This stuff is THICK, which scared me into thinking I’d be an oil slick, but it turns out it’s exactly the level of moisture I need in the dry, dirty air of Los Angeles. I use it day and night, and just a pea-sized amount covers my whole face.

Besides the packaging being beautiful (it’s a frosted glass hexagon with a solid wood top), it’s useful. It comes with this tiny metal spoon that magnetically stays attached to the top, and while I thought it was gimmicky at first, it’s actually very smart. My grubby paws don’t have to dig around in the jar for product. I can scrape out exactly the right amount without touching the cream inside. I always buy the biggest size available since I use it twice daily since it’s the best value. Pricey, yes, but I’ve pared down the rest of my routine to make room for it budget-wise.
