Something for My Maskne, a Chuckle-Worthy Video & an Arlyn Blast From the Past: 5 Quick Things
Project 365, Day 107/365
Welcome to 5 Quick Things, special Saturday edition! I wasn’t able to do my normal Friday post yesterday, so I figured I would just do that today, instead. Friday post traffic tends to be one of the worst days of the week, which makes me wonder if maybe 5QT is just a dud, or if Friday is the dud. Either way, I like sharing these little things here and there, so I likely won’t give it up any time soon.
Tomorrow (your today), Charles and I are getting our first jabs so I’m looking forward to being on the other side of that one, then I have a virtual baby shower over Zoom to attend for a dear friend. Anyone else have something fun planned for this weekend?
Oh, also, I’m taking recommendations for easy-to-watch sitcoms to start that are on a streaming service. We just wrapped up Superstore’s last episode tonight, so I welcome anything you’ve loved and think I’ll like!
Quick Thing #1
I admit: My face has seen better days. Maskne is real, folks. Getting all sweaty and breathy in a mask during PT can’t be doing my skin any favors, and my cheeks and jawline are all marked up. I’m trying this dark spot serum from one of my favorite cruelty-free and non-toxic brands Biossance and I might be imagining it, but I swear it’s already started working on the newer scarring. Seems very promising!
Quick Thing #2
Speaking of skincare, I picked up a few other new things during Sephora’s spring event, and this cleanser was a pleasant surprise. I’m picky about my cleansers: needs to be at least a little bit foamy…but not drying, cream cleansers are best…but not overly creamy, and it can’t leave my face feeling tight and stripped. I love the Korres cleanser on my favorites page (that I haven’t updated in months), but Farmacy’s Whipped Greens cleanser runs pretty parallel to that now. I really like it!
Quick Thing #3
I watched this ridiculous(ly cute) video of a chinchilla more times than I’d like to admit. I hope it gives you a good belly laugh.

Quick Thing #5
Through the magic of something called the “Wayback Machine” I found an old archived page of the first blog I ever started. It was called The Accessories Junkie, and looking at it now makes me chuckle. I was very big on fashion accessories back in my 20s, so I started a blog to celebrate that. I figured there were plenty of fashion websites already, but few dedicated to the niche of jewelry and shoes and handbags. If you want to chuckle along with me, you can see that here (a lot of the links are broken and most photos don’t work but…you’ll get a sense for it).
See you tomorrow, FOAS!
