5 Quick Things
Project 365, Day 85/365
We made it to Friday! I’m 100% sitting here, listening to old *NSync songs on YouTube. It started with Charles randomly remembering the music video for Backstreet Boys’ song Everybody, us watching all six minutes of it when I should have been writing, and when he walked away to clean up the kitchen, I took a deep dive. As someone who came of age in the late 1990s/early 2000s, there are few things that make me come to life quite like a boy band. Anyway, enough with that, let’s get to some quick things…five of them.
Quick Thing #1
I’ve had these beeswax food wraps in my Amazon cart for, I’m not kidding, two years. I finally decided to give them a go recently, and while I’m still getting used to how to best work them, I’m pretty excited about them. Basically, they’re cloth covered in sustainably harvested beeswax that warm up with just your hands to form around spare fruits or vegetables, and even seal bowls. They’re washable and reusable and pretty dang cute if you ask me.
Quick Thing #2
Look, I know I talked about limiting my dairy, but it doesn’t mean I don’t still spend most of my free time bookmarking cheesy, pasta recipes on my Instagram account. Like this cheesy chimichurri pasta.
Quick Thing #3
A very, VERY good reminder I feel like I’ve needed every single day the past few weeks.
Quick Thing #4
Just look at this room! Those powdery blue walls and that cabinet are just ::chef’s kiss::. The caned daybed is also particularly lovely, and I’ve been thinking of how I can bring something caned into my bedroom but also, I need to just stop trying to bring everything into my room. There will be other rooms. I started reworking my moodboards because I need to tweak my color palette as the walls turned out pinker and less peach, but I’m enjoying the challenge and hopefully I’ll show you soon so I can FINALLY start buying some things. My goal is to be done with the room by June, except that everything has a lead time of like…24 weeks or is completely backordered, so, let’s see what happens.
Quick Thing #5
I finally finished Big Magic, and now I’m on the hunt for another book. Waffling between staying in the “self-help” type genre or moving into fiction. I’m waiting for a copy of The Midnight Library by Matt Haig to open up on my library e-book app, but I still have several weeks left on the waitlist (along with about 15 other books I’m also waiting for). There were a ton of great book recommendations in this post from February 1 that I should cull through again. Feel free to add any new reads in the comments below!
See you tomorrow, friends.
