5 Quick Things

Project 365, Day 15

Happy Friday, friends! I like the idea of doing a quick 5 every Friday. Something fast and easy to read, with some things to check out during your weekends. I hope you like this, but if we get bored with it, I can always pivot!

Sometimes it’ll be a mix of things I’ve bought, read, cooked. Other times, it might just be all one category. Today, I’m going to share a few small things I’ve added to my everyday life, all well worth the money spent on them. Fair warning, lots of gross links from Amazon, which I’m trying to shop less from, but in all fairness, these were purchased LAST YEAR, before “resolutions” and all of that.

Quick Thing #1

Silk Eye Mask: I’ve never been an eye mask person. Luckily, I’m a very heavy sleeper and don’t need much coxing to drift off into a sweet slumber. But recently, the light from the TV or Charles’ phone at night when he’s still up had been bugging me, so I thought a sleep mask might solve that problem. I’ve tried others that felt so tight on my face, but this one is just loose enough, soft and silky. It doesn’t block out 100% of light, so if that’s what you’re looking for, this isn’t it for you, but it works for my needs and I’ve been using it most nights happily!

Quick Thing #2

Twisty Hair Towel: This thing is GREAT. If you’re tired of twisting your wet hair up in a standard towel, having it flop around at the subtlest movements, you need one of these. It has a little button in the back that secures the twist in place, it’s super lightweight and easy to wear, and I find my hair does actually dry much faster.

Quick Thing #3

Head Scrubby: I have to tell you that I don’t own this exact one. I bought one after being influenced via a Facebook ad without realizing it shipped directly from China and I waited forever for it. This is very similar to what I bought for me and Charles. It’s supposed to improve scalp health, make your shampoo work harder for you, and get that scalp squeaky clean. I’ve read these things can also stimulate hair growth, which is really why I bought it, tbh.

Quick Thing #4

Bath Salts: Remember when I was grateful this Tuesday for my bathtub? That bathtub wouldn’t be half of what it is to me without these Epsom salts. The Milk & Honey variety smells so wonderful. I’m on my second bag already (honestly, should have just bought the three-pack out of the gate, but didn’t know how much I’d love it when I bought it).

Quick Thing #5

Olive & June Nail Polish Remover Pot: I normally buy whatever bottle of nail polish remover I scoop up at Target, and then get annoyed each time I do an at-home manicure (i.e. every time) because I have to scrub my nails with a cotton ball like I’m scrubbing garage floors just to lift the polish off my nails. Over Black Friday, I picked up a handful of things from Olive & June after hearing really good things about their products, and far and away this nail polish remover pot was SPECTACULAR. It comes with a built-in sponge inside that’s soaked in polish remover, and all you have to do is twist your finger (and yes, I tried it with a toe, too and it worked albeit it was a strange sight to see), et voila, your finger comes out seconds later clean as a whistle. Goodbye cotton balls and trash Target remover.

And that’s all folks. A quick five things making my everyday just a little bit better.

See you tomorrow, friends!
