67 Days, Air Fryer Salmon, Baby Goats: My Weekly Gratitudes
Project 365, Day 82/365
If you were here on Saturday, you may have seen my post that asked you all when you felt like an adult. Consensus? Most of us don’t actually feel like one, at least not most of the time. There’s solidarity in that, for sure. But that’s not the real reason I started this post with that anecdote. As I was changing the number from 81 to 82 today in my Project 365 count, I smiled to myself. Why? Well, on Friday night, as I sat and wondered what to write about for Saturday, I dug up an old post that had been sitting in my drafts for a bit of time. I tend to not finish those, but I felt like it was time to and opened it back up. At the top was the following: “Project 365, Day 12/365”
While 82 days feels both like an eternity and like I’m just scratching the tippy top of the surface, there is something monumental feeling of deleting that “12” and replacing it with 79. A whole 67 days…two months and a week…longer. It almost felt like a micro time capsule of myself and Project 365. I thought about where I must have been when I started writing that, all the expectations I was still holding over myself at that time. Before I told my overbearing expectations for myself to hit the road and just write whatever, whenever. I feel like I’ve come a long way in those 67 days, and am excited to see how much further I can do in 67 more…and whatever is 365 minus 82 minus 67. I’m a writer, not a mathematician, people. (It’s 216, alright? I used a calculator. And GOOD GRIEF 216 days is SO many days…okay, back to my short-lived positivity.)
Anyhow, I just wanted to say that I’m grateful I’ve made it this long, and I’ll just keep taking it day by day, post by post.
Here are some other things I’m grateful for, because I’m not jinxing myself this week by not going through this exercise. 🙂
I’m grateful for my air fryer, which made AWESOME salmon for dinner tonight (Monday) from this recipe I shared on Sunday.
I’m grateful I got to chat through some fun design plans for a friend’s new house.
I’m grateful for the time to write every day.
I’m grateful for being the keeper of nephew memories (my sister called me to tell me two stories before she forgot because she said I’m the only one who ever remembers, and it felt special).
I’m grateful for a husband who cares so, so much about his non-blood-related nephews.
I’m grateful for PopSockets, because otherwise my phone would likely be in shards.
I’m grateful for flannel pajamas (even though LA is mild but I still get chilly at night).
I’m grateful for videos of baby goats joyfully hopping around, and that I can bookmark them and watch them again and again.
I’m grateful for colors. Seriously, though, when you really think about it, colors are AMAZING!
I’m grateful for Birkenstocks and that I live somewhere that they somehow are considered “stylish.” (Okay, maybe stylish is a stretch, but they are highly accepted.)
I’m grateful for all of you.
See you tomorrow, friends!
