Changing Things Up: My *Monday* Gratitudes

Project 365, Day 186/365

I’m so touched by the uplifting, supportive messages from yesterday’s post. We got home very late from a barbeque we attended and I still haven’t had time to respond to anyone, but I will. I did read every comment though and am honestly so humbled. Thank you for being there, to read, on good days and bad. Not that it was a bad day when I wrote that post, necessarily, but you know.

Being that it’s quite late and I have physical therapy early in the morning, I decided to shift my gratitudes post to today rather than Tuesday. Plus, I was feeling very grateful for many things today so it felt right. My blog, my rules. Ha! For anyone here in the states, I hope you had time to enjoy some holiday weekend festivities, whatever that looked like for you. Charles and I were invited to a friend’s house for a barbeque and we literally sat outside for hours and hours talking, eating, talking some more. Telling stories, reminiscing. Such a departure from last year, where we sat inside, just the two of us, eating hot dogs I made on our George Foreman grill, listening to the fireworks going off outside. Man has it been a long year for us all, in so many ways. Certainly much to be grateful for right now.

So, that said, let’s get into it:

I’m grateful for a day off work to rest and enjoy life.

I’m grateful for friends and outdoor cookouts again.

I’m grateful for good food I didn’t have to cook myself.

I’m grateful for many freedoms. Our country is far from perfect, but I still feel lucky to live here most days.

I’m grateful for long flowy dresses.

I’m grateful for chilly nights, even in the middle of summer.

I’m grateful for a reliable car to get me where I need to go.

I’m grateful for a stable, loving family.

I’m grateful for access to quality healthcare.

I’m grateful for my body, flaws and discomforts and all.

I’m grateful for artists who make beautiful things that make the world better.

I’m grateful for you.

See you tomorrow, FOAS.
