Cute Dogs, Ice Cream, The Good Stuff: My Weekly Gratitudes

Welcome to my weekly gratitudes post, friends. I’ve been feeling particularly happy and grateful as of late, even in the face of some continued challenges and discomfort, but I realized something recently. When I’m in the midst of something, it’s easy to focus on some of the pain in my legs or the pulling tightness in my back or whatever I’m feeling at the moment. But every time, and I mean every time I look back on those moments, I never remember what my body was going through. I only remember what my mind or soul was experiencing. Even on small things, like strolling through the grocery store, I remember the conversation I might have been having, or seeing a yummy display of cookies and wanting them.

It’s a simple thing, but that’s really helped me lately. Knowing that even though I rarely go a day without being uncomfortable in some way physically, it’s never ingrained in my memory, almost as if it was never there to begin with. So, I’m grateful for that. For clean, happy thoughts not riddled with feeling like crap, just the good stuff.

So, with that said, let me go into a few other things I’m grateful I can be thankful for:

I’m grateful for mint chocolate chip ice cream, even when it’s not green like I want it to be.

I’m grateful for surprise gifts in the mail from friends.

I’m grateful for crisp, fall-ish evening walks with Charles.

I’m grateful for comfy pajamas.

I’m grateful for catching up with friends I haven’t seen in a while.

I’m grateful for supportive and caring family.

I’m grateful for cute dogs around the neighborhood.

I’m grateful for sand beneath my feet.

I’m grateful for Charles, who always cleans the kitchen after I make a mess cooking.

I’m grateful for pretty ceramics to eat off of.

I’m grateful for the good stuff in life.

I’m grateful for my readers.

See you tomorrow, FOAS.
