It’s July 1st…You Know What That Means

Project 365, Day 181/365

Rabbit, rabbit friends! Who got around to saying it first thing this morning? Who forgot? Who still has no idea what I’m talking about? Last Rabbit, Rabbit Day, one of my closest friends (who receives my emails and occasionally pops onto the blog) emailed me to ask “what is Rabbit, Rabbit Day Arlyna?” I responded, “maybe if you read my blog more often, you’d know.” She wrote back “I do read it, I still don’t know.” HA. So, what’s clear is that our little pond of readers is varied in their Rabbit, Rabbit Day knowledge.

As a reminder, it’s just a silly little thing I do at the start of the month for “good luck.” Something I’ve done off and on since I was a kid. I wrote more about it here if you’re lost and want to catch up.

And since May 1, I started a new little thing here, to spread the luck in the Friends of Arlyn Says community with a little giveaway, sponsored by no one besides me and my bank account. Occasionally, I share affiliate links for products and get a (very) small kickback, so I’ve been taking some of that and paying it back to you. We could all use a little something to look forward to every few weeks, yeah?

The first month, I gave away two East Fork mugs, because I love them personally. Last month, I gave away one of my more resourceful encyclopedic cookbooks (New York Times Cookbook). I’ve been in the mood for giving away things that impact my every day or at least every week. Things I find truly useful and life-improving. So, for July, I had a few things in mind and landed on the beautiful Belgian linen kitchen towels from Snowe I’ve had for years and use literally every single day.

I LOVE these kitchen towels. They come as a set of two in a few different colorways (I have them in red). Not only are they very well made and lovely, they also double as an apron. Clutch! They have a little loop on one end and a long string to wrap around your waist on the other. Sometimes, you’ll find me in the kitchen with one of the towels draped over my shoulder and the other strapped to my hips. Then, they get thrown in the wash, and it all happens over and over again.

There are so many stunning design things out there, but to me, my favorite things are the ones you touch every day. The simple linen napkin. The extra soft blanket. The perfectly imperfect ceramic cup you sip your drink out of. Those are the things that make a home, not just the outwardly showy things.

So that’s this month’s Rabbit, Rabbit Day giveaway! I keep saying I’m going to change the format of how to enter these things, keep it interesting, but for now, it’s the same as the last two times: leave a comment (just one, please) saying anything you want, and in a few days, I’ll pick one at random. Snowe doesn’t ship outside the US, so this one is open only to those within the contiguous US. At some point, I’ll find a way to do something to include my international readers. Stay tuned.

Thanks again for sticking with me every day, every week, every month, every whenever you get around to popping by.

See you tomorrow, friends, and good luck!
