My Favorite Ultra-Soft Pajama Sets (I Own 3)

FOAS! It’s Friday! Well, it’s Thursday as I write this, but Friday is upon us, and by the time you read this, it will actually be here, so I’m celebrating. I love the energy of a Friday. I may have said this before, but Charles used to start every Friday in a past job by reciting a line similar to “Ahh Friday, the day of endless possibilities.” Friday is the Halloween of the weekend. All the fun of the rest of the holidays (weekend days) ahead of you. This would make Christmas the Sunday…the culmination of all the lead-up. And New Years is like that random Monday or Tuesday you have off before having to head right back into the thick of things.

And Thanksgiving is well, obviously the Saturday, even though it’s squarely a Thursday.

Now I’m getting wild with my analogies. It started innocent enough, hm? So…Friday. The day of endless possibilities.

Being 17 days into Arlyn’s Month of Favorites makes me really sit and wonder how I had the willpower and drive to make it through the entire calendar year off 2021. Most nights, while I’m warm and cozy on my couch, wrapped up in my old pregnancy pillow that is now my sofa buddy, I peel myself away from the few moments in the day I actually have to myself. Once I get going, I’m perfectly happy to be here writing, but the initiation of the task usually comes with a lot of moaning and groaning. But knowing you all are on the other side of the screen reading makes it all worthwhile. Thanks for being here today and always, whether you pop in periodically or daily. It’s what kept me going last year, and it’s what keeps me going now.

So, today. Speaking of being comfortable, I’m going to share with you my absolute favorite pajama set. I own three sets (two short versions and a long sleeve/pant version). They’ve seen the battlefields of pregnancy and newborn life, two times where comfort was of utmost importance. Times when hormones caused serious hot flashes and bulging bellies tested the fortitude of spandex.

I’m particularly fond of the delicate piping along the edges. Gives them a very classic pajama set vibe.

Product name: Clea Bamboo Classic Pajama Set at Kindred Braverly (Or Davy Piper)

What I like about them: For many years, I’ve bought a version of this type of pajama set and it was always short of what I was actually looking for. The fabric wasn’t soft and breathable, there were no pockets, the waistband was pinchy and too small for the width of the leg, and worst of all, the buttons would always come undone mid-sleep. These are the opposite of all of that. They check every box: soft, breathable, cool (yet warm when they need to be), pockets, buttons that stay closed, comfortable waistband, wash well and well made. I own the Deep Berry and Mist colors in the shorts version and the Evergreen color in the pants version and they’re always what I grab for year-round.

I basically lived in these my entire pregnancy and post-partum, and while yes, these are for sale on a maternity website, they’re not really maternity. The non-maternity sister brand Davy Piper (who also makes my favorite everyday bra), sells them as well in different colors, but I prefer the hues from Kindred Braverly. These would make a fantastic gift for anyone you know who wants a bit of an upgraded nightwear experience without spending over $100, which I often find to be the price point on this look.

See you Monday, FOAS!
