Rabbit, Rabbit Day Giveaway! (& Some Weekly Gratitudes)

Project 365, Day 152/365

RABBIT, RABBIT FRIENDS! I had a funny little moment this morning, where I sat down to write tomorrow’s post (for June 1), typed out those first few words, then kicked myself for not waking up this morning and saying “rabbit, rabbit” before “good morning” to Charles. I sat in my disappointment for myself for about a minute before I realized, IT’S STILL MAY FOR ME! I have my chance tomorrow to get it right. Phew. This writing one day ahead thing can be so great, but it messes with my brain sometimes. 🙂

As is the tradition I set last month, today, I pass along a little luck with a small giveaway (let’s not talk about the fact that, by accident, last month’s winners still don’t have their prize, but I’ll fix that tomorrow when the post office opens again). I don’t know about you, but as we head into the summer, I get an itch to cook all the things. There are so many beautiful fruits and veggies to pick from, the grill calls to us, outdoor lunches and dinners just feel right. So I decided to share one of my favorite cookbooks with you all. It’s a behemoth, at 960 pages, has very few photos, but it’s something I think anyone who loves to cook should have on hand: The Essential New York Times Cookbook. And maybe I’ll throw in a little additional surprise with it, too.

All you have to do to be considered is leave a comment below saying whatever you want! A quick hello is just fine. Something I did learn from last time though is if you’re not interested in being considered, please refrain from commenting. And also, just one comment per reader (no replies to others, please!) as it skews the pool of entrants when I go to pick a winner (on Friday, June 4).

Okay, now, let’s get to some gratitudes I have on my heart:

I’m grateful for small little joys like waking up once a month and saying silly things like “rabbit, rabbit!” even if it’s all for nothing. We need those small little joys.

I’m grateful that I can complain about writing some days, but people still show up to read my little blog.

I’m grateful that adding things like spinach and kale to fruit smoothies doesn’t totally ruin the flavor.

I’m grateful for the weight being vaccinated has lifted from my shoulders.

I’m grateful I was able to snag a few new things I’ve been eyeing, but for less thanks to sales.

I’m grateful for friends and community.

I’m grateful Bed Bath & Beyond accepts expired coupons.

I’m grateful for comfortable shoes.

I’m grateful for FaceTime so I can see my parents’ faces on a tiny screen to hold me over until I can see them in real life.

I’m grateful for the ocean.

I’m grateful for colors (and an innate sense of how to put them all together in a home).

I’m grateful for FOAS.

See you tomorrow, friends!
