Sunscreen, Woodpeckers, Homemade Broth: My Weekly Gratitudes

This weekend, prompted by my twin nephews, Charles and I bought a Rubik’s Cube. Solving it was evidently our “summer project,” as assigned by two 11 year olds. We video chatted for nearly two hours, going through the first two steps of the algorithm you need to figure it all out. They landed where they needed to. Charles and I got…1.5x the way through. Whoops. We have some homework to do.
So, I’ll start by saying I’m immensely grateful for a bond with those two dudes, all the way over here in California.

Okay, let’s get to some gratitudes:
I’m grateful for summer watermelon, even when it’s all grainy and mushy inside and I start yelling out of frustration halfway through cutting it and salvaging pieces I’m okay with.
I’m grateful for library books.
I’m grateful for clearing out and making homemade chicken broth with some frozen rotisserie chicken bones I found.
I’m grateful for a possible trip home back to Florida this summer.
I’m grateful for the science that will let me take a possible trip back home to Florida this sumer.
I’m grateful for the woodpecker I saw out the front window today.
I’m grateful for air conditioning.
I’m grateful for sunscreen.
I’m grateful for legs that do what they are supposed to do, even if a little uncomfortable sometimes.
I’m grateful for people who stand up for others that can’t stand up for themselves.
I’m grateful for Charles and my sister and brother and my nephews and my parents.
