Project 365, Day 190/365

Friends, I’m back! I started writing this post apologizing for yesterday, and then I deleted it. I needed rest, and I’m not really all that sorry about that. I found myself sitting down to write and every cell in my body told me “no.” I’ve pushed through mental blocks like that plenty of times, but yesterday felt different. Like I said, I was just on empty emotionally and that was that.

But here I am again. In better spirits with a bit more energy. And I have five quick things to share with you because it’s Friday, and that’s what we do around here, isn’t it? Alright, let’s do this:

Quick Thing #1

Has anyone watched the show Making It, with Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman. I believe it originally runs on NBC, but I started streaming it recently on Hulu and I really like it. It’s a friendly competition show for makers and artists (which you know I love) with the same “here to make friends” ethos as Great British Bake Off but a bit more fast-paced because…America. I haven’t gotten too far into it, but so far it makes me happy.

Quick Thing #2

Every year, I do the same thing: find and bookmark beautiful photos of rustic cherry clafoutis, eventually get around to making one, then realize that maybe I don’t actually really like cherry clafoutis. I didn’t fulfill those last two steps, but I did save this version from Smitten Kitchen this week and I figured I’d share it, in case anyone out there likes the eggy custardiness of a clafoutis.

Quick Thing #3

A peek into a house tour from Architectural Digest that I loved so much, I didn’t realize I had bookmarked it three times. It’s not the kind of design I would necessarily want to live in, but I’d 100% book to stay there for a summer sabbatical (you know, or something “charming” like that).

Quick Thing #4

I know I’m about a week or so late to the whole Justina Blakeney for Target release (and in Target collab world, that might as well be 12 years later), but I just gotta say, I really love this cobalt blue vase. I essentially have no use for it, and nowhere to put it, but if I happened upon it on the shelf on my next trip to the super store, well…it may just find its way into my cart.

Quick Thing #5

Probably something I should have re-read yesterday in my “nope, not having it” blogging moment. Let’s all keep our chins up, even if we have to find someone to hold them there when our heads are too heavy.

See you tomorrow, FOAS.
