My Favorite (Actually Supportive) Wireless Bra
I (barely) survived my first end of daylight savings as a parent! I remember loving the “fall back” time change specifically for the ability to “gain” an hour of sleep. I don’t particularly appreciate how early the sun sets, but that one Sunday when you’d leisurely wake up and it was still 8 am according to the clock was glorious. Do you know what’s not glorious? Being woken up at 4:45 am to start your day because you have a little dictator baby calling the shots. Let’s hope her internal clock resets quickly because ZzZZzzzz. I read something somewhere to take the littles out into the morning light to help with circadian rhythms, so we ended up strolling the neighborhood in a peaceful walk around 7:30, and then went out for afternoon sun around 12, then for an early dusk walk around 4. You know, just in case.
Wish us luck.
Today, I’m sharing a product I never knew could exist: an actually supportive wireless bra. As someone with a very large, very heavy chest, “wireless” and “bra” were not two words that lived anywhere near each other in my undergarments vocabulary. They were in different hemispheres. Sweden and Chile. That is until I found Davy Piper.
Product name: The Nellie Simply Wireless Bra at Davy Piper
A little about it: I’ve tried my fair share of bralettes and wireless bras. Every time I saw one that was available in “larger” sizes, I dreamed a little dream that I could live in a world with perky boobs without a wire digging into my ribcage. Anything I ordered was laughable. Five minutes in and had skinny straps digging into my fleshy shoulders, holding on for dear life. This is not that. I own multiple of these and basically lived in them throughout the entire pandemic and beyond. It’s shaping, lifting, and so comfortable, I even wore it outside the house most days, too, which was unthinkable before finding this bra. Now that I’m nursing and pumping, I moved from Davy Piper to Kindred Braverly, which is their maternity and postpartum-focused sister brand, and I couldn’t imagine this journey without their bras.
Why I like it: The magic of the Davy Piper wireless bra is multi-fold: the fabric is thick and stretchy, the band holds everything together, and the sizing includes regular, busty, and (most recently) super busty, each with its own specific strap width. 30B through 44K is covered here…this kind of inclusive sizing doesn’t present itself often. I love the deep, jewel-toned colors available, they have fantastic customer service, and anytime I place an order, I have it in my hands in mere days. When my time breastfeeding comes to an end, I absolutely plan on going back to my Nellie bras 90% of the time, only turning to my wired bras for very specific occasions. If you’re tired of droopy boobies or uncomfortable wires, give this a try.
See you tomorrow, FOAS!
